Synopsis:
From the first moment I saw Janny Moore’s sparkling eyes and luminous smile, I’ve been obsessed with the idea of getting to know her…
watching.
She’s everything I need in my life, now I just have to convince her.
She’s never set eyes on me, she has no idea I exist…
but she will.
Excerpt:
If you’d asked me when I was in college what I thought I would be doing in ten years’ time, this wouldn’t have been my answer. Life as a private
investigator isn’t as exciting as one might think. Sure, there are moments of danger which get my adrenaline pumping and when that happens, no other high
can compare. I used to live for that feeling and for a while you could even say I was addicted to it. But the choices we make have consequences and one
decision can change everything.
These days I do a lot of watching and even more waiting. I’m the guy people pay to find the truth buried under all the lies. Eventually, I see past the
surface of who you’re pretending to be, revealing all that you’ve kept hidden and I know firsthand appearances can be deceiving.
MARY’s 5 STAR REVIEW
Quake was riveting, provocative, suspenseful and very addictive! Jacob Chance has done an impressive job of weaving a bit of taboo with a whole lot of hot and steamy…..not to mention a dose of WTF? Quake is a well written, quick read and flows effortlessly.
Kyle McKenzie, is currently self-employed as a P.I. after years of working on the police force. As exciting as life as a P.I. can be there are also some pretty boring stuff too. I mean how fun can it be doing the dirty work of figuring out who is doing what. Often that boring time is surveillance work whether it’s done remotely or in person.
While working on his current assignment Kyle becomes completely enamored with Janny Moore, the daughter of one of his clients. It was like lust at first sight when he laid eyes on her. Janny is a gorgeous, 20 something, blonde, college student and is sexy as hell. Discovering her had been a complete surprise. But as Kyle would learn Janny frequently had sleep overs at her brother’s house.
Learning this information gave Kyle a bit of an advantage since he now had the scoop on Janny. With this new knowledge putting her in a somewhat compromising position. Kyle’s preoccupation with Janny only fueled his desire to meet Janny…. not only that but how to make it happen. Call it serendipitous or luck but the two quiet literally met with Janny running into Kyle one evening at Quake, a nightclub they were both at. This brief encounter was not nearly enough time but Janny was also with another guy.
A chance meeting a few days later not only did they find each other again but now finding the time to spend together. And that is when something between them just clicked. You could feel an immediate connection between Kyle and Janny. I loved the dialogue of their inner thoughts …. so freakin hot and wanton. It didn’t take long before the sparks began to fly. And damn if Kyle and Janny were explosive when they finally got together! That white hot chemistry could not be contained.
But Kyle has secrets that he is keeping from Janny. Secrets that would be life changing.
How long could he keep these secrets before things begin to fall apart?
Would Janny be able to live with these secrets once they were exposed?
Quake most definitely has an original plot with plenty of hot, sexy times as well as a bit of drama. I whole heartedly loved this book! Great debut novel. Gaaaahhhhh!!!! the end of Quake so left me hanging!!! Write fast Jacob…I can barely wait.
