AMERICAN BAD BOY by Eddie Cleveland: Release Day Blitz & Mary’s Review
BLURB:
I lost my men, I lost my leg, I lost my career and all I could think of was Lauren.
I left for West Point with two things: a broken heart and a promise to never let it happen again.
Now I’m back in Colorado as a war hero. F*ck that, I’m a celebrity.
And every woman wants to open her legs for Captain America.
So why do I only want her?
************
Even with one leg, Mack Forrester hasn’t lost his swagger.
It’s been a decade since he left, but under his tattoos I still see the guy who broke my heart when he chose his country instead of me.
I told myself I was over it. Over him. One glimpse in his crystal blue eyes and I knew it was a lie.
Now he wants me back, but ten years is a long time. There’s so much he doesn’t know.
Like, that I had his child.
MARY’s 5 STAR REVIEW
First of all let me tell you that Eddie Cleveland blew me away with American Bad Boy! The writing was flawless and the feelings were real. Eddie was able to take you with Mack as he was on the battlefield of Afghanistan as well as felling the residual silent side effects of being in battle. It’s emotional, it’s heartfelt, it’s hotter than hell but it’s truly a story of second chances.
Lauren and Mack had grown up together. Each other’s first and only love. Their future destined to be together …. until that one night when Lauren’s world came tumbling down. The night that Mack told her that he had been accepted to West Point and he was going.
Mack’s brother had been killed in the fall of the Twin Towers on 9 -11. Mack felt the call to serve his country in light of his brother’s death. His goal to attend West Point had been the culmination of years of work to get the grades and to achieve the physical requirements of being the best of the best.
Now let’s fast forward 10 years. Mack has returned home from the battlefield. He’s injured, losing a leg while protecting a reporter and his men. Even after he is aware of his injury he still trying to protect his men yet it’s not until the medics load him on the chopper that he has the realization he can no longer do anything to help his men. It’s in this moment of loss and helplessness that Lauren’s memory is there to get him through this rough minute in time. His angel …. there to sooth and calm him.
Then Mack comes home. A changed man not only because of his injury but also a highly decorated War Hero. He’s returned home to heal and rehab. A bit overwhelmed by the welcome home parade as well as the media show when he arrives at the rehab facility he is ready to just settle in and have the quiet. His high school sweetheart, the same sweet girl whose heart he had broken.
Lots of things have changed in the 10 years he’s been gone. They had both moved on. Obviously, Lauren had completed nursing school. She had been married and she has a son. Mack is still the handsome man that left but now he’s back as a tatted, injured, War Hero. Known throughout the country as “Captain American”. Leaving Lauren behind left Mack’s heart in shambles too. Vowing not to let it happen again, his life had been filled with one night stands. But Mack is also haunted by demons of war….PTSD that he denies. The one thing that couldn’t be denied was that there was still a spark between these two.
Would Lauren and Mack be able to mend their shattered hearts?
Will Lauren share her secret with Mack?
Can Mack overcome and deal with his demons?
American Bad Boy is a fantastic read by a debuting author. Totally recommend this book to everyone and can’t wait for Eddie’s next book!!
