OMG, I can’t tell you how much I loved this book!! It was so full of feels and emotion that it was easy to totally immersed in the story. So much so I just absolutely freakin couldn’t put it down!! Second chance romances are fast becoming one of my favorites to read. Mmmm, maybe it’s because nothing in life is really perfect or that I’m a sucker for angsty, steamy, sexy, hotter than hell love story. Filthy English has lots of laugh out loud parts but just know there are going to be times when you just cry…like an ugly cry!
A broken hearted Remi has gone to London with her best friend, Lulu, taking the trip that she had planned for her honeymoon. After her fiancé got cold feet 2 weeks before their wedding and dumped her she was determined to put that behind her. So taking the world by the horns she and Lulu are off to see the sights of London and move forward. I have to mention that Lulu is one hell of a great friend too!
One evening Remi and Lulu head out for a night of clubbing. Only thing is that they end up at a Masquerade club. Donning masks, as well as consuming tequila. she finds herself a little later a bit tipsy, drunk and promptly trips into the lap of a sexy, tattooed, British hunk. Little does she know that behind that mask is none other than Dax Blay. With their off the chart chemistry taking over mystery man and Remi wake up together the next morning. Shocked, to say the least, to find that it was none other than Dax that she had just slept with!! Remi’s WTF moment came discovering their matching tattoos. What other crazy mistake she had made?
Dax has his own baggage. He’s also been hurt and has vowed to guard his heart and not get too close to anyone. There’s another thing too, Dax and Remi have history too. Three year earlier they spent an unforgettable salacious 3 days together. Remi’s heart was crushed when Dax left after their hot and heavy lovefest left without so much as a word.
It becomes apparent pretty quickly that this undeniably blazing hot chemistry between them will kick into high gear once again. Remi and Dax are just so freakin great together…. all the playful banter and burning up the sheets.
Misinterpreted situations and hurt feelings find both Dax and Remi back home. And wouldn’t you know that fate would step in and throw them back together again. Remi’s final option for a place to live leads her to being roommates with Dax. I’d love to tell you more but then that would just ruin it for you!
In Filthy English, Dax stole my heart…totally, completely! This man-boy has met his match with Remi. How I could feel for Remi, the emotion of being left and having to pick up the pieces in the aftermath. Making lemonade out of the lemons she had been dealt. You could see her resolve in moving forward but she still had some unfinished business. I loved the relationship between Remi and her autistic brother, Malcom…. a package deal no questions asked. Malcom in his own right was a pretty cool.
This being my first book by Ilsa you can bet your bottom dollar I’m going right out to pick up Dirty English… and anything else she has written!
An awesome book that will fill all the squares and leave you wanting more.
Great writing that flowed and everything just fit together.
I can hardly wait for what comes next.
