QUESTION AND ANSWERS WITH Jacob Chance
Boston Author, Jacob Chance, is one half of the Brothers Chance. These two guys are really a ton of fun and I swear they must be related to the Energizer Bunny. No, not like that!! It’s the way they are everywhere promoting their books! Jacob’s entrance into the Indie book word has given his readers plenty of hot, salacious reads with an added element of twisted suspense. Enough so that it makes it freakin hard to put his books down.
I was fortunate enough to steal a few moments of Jacob’s time for a quick little Q & A. For those of you who already know and follow Jacob, I hope that you learn something new about him. For those whom Jacob is a new Author, I hope you’ll be even more enticed to check out his books.
December 15th is the release date for Jacob’s newest book, Tied, a novella that follows his publication of Delve. BTW, Delve is FREE right now so it easy for you to grab it to read before Tied.

You’ve said that writing your first book was done on a dare. Now that you are soon to publish your fourth book what has been the biggest surprise about writing? About the people that follow you?
The biggest surprise is how fast I’m getting books out. It’s easier with each one. I’m lucky; I have great readers. They support me and whatever I write.
What is the biggest surprise about breaking into the Indie World? Do you think that you would ever publish traditional?
The biggest surprise is the amount of support I’ve received and how many people I’ve met. I’m not opposed to publishing traditionally. It would depend on the offer.
Do you have plans of making writing a full time career? If so where would you like to be five years from now?
I already have a full time job, but I can see myself writing full time at some point. Five years from now I want to be living in a tropical locale where I can surf every day and write whenever I want to.
Why did you choose erotica? What type scenes are the hardest for you to write? Do you think that you would ever write anything else?
I chose erotica as part of a bet with my cousin Cara. She bet I wouldn’t do it. The hardest scenes for me to write are always the female pov ones. I love Sci-Fi shows. One of my new favorite shows is The Expanse. It’s the best Sci-Fi show since Battlestar Galactica. Yes, I’d like to write a Sci-Fi book someday.
Since you have a job outside the book world, what are the challenges you face to write?
Finding the time write and getting enough sleep.
Tell us what do you like to do in your free time, outside of the book world.
Go to the gym, hang out with friends, read and watch television.
How important are reviews to you? Do you read all your review?
I try to read them, but I don’t get bothered by bad reviews.
I admire how hard you, and your brother for that matter, have worked to get your books out there. If you gave a word of advice to new Authors, what would that be?
Be yourself, don’t try to take on someone else’s persona.
When writing, do you have a special routine? Do you outline your stories or just let it flow? What do you like least about writing?
I don’t have a routine. I write when I can find the time and I don’t outline. I like everything about writing.
Are you able to use life experiences when you write or do you spend time “doing research?”
Yes, I use real life experiences, some mine and some from people I know, and I also do research when I need to.
Where is your favorite place to write? What do you wear when writing? Do you listen to music when writing?
My home office is my favorite place to write. I wear whatever I have on at the time and I do listen to music.
Which of your characters would you want to date? Have a beer with?
Janny would be the one I’d date. She’s hot, sweet and has a great ass. She looks like Rachel McAdams and she’s my first female character in a book I published. She’ll always hold a special place in my heart.
I’d want to have a beer with Derek. He has a great sense of humor and we’d probably drink too much and end up in a bar fight together.
Name something you are really good at. Something that would surprise everyone.
Getting a lot accomplished in a short amount of time. I’ve watched the Notebook more than once.
If there was one thing that you would want people to know/think about Jacob Chance, what would that be?
That I’m a hard worker and I take my writing very seriously.
