He took another step toward me, and I started to step back, but there was a counter behind me, so I had to stay put. And maybe I wanted to stay put. He was only a foot and a half away from me now.
“But I haven’t lied to you, Sabrina.” His gaze never left mine. “And I’m not lying when I say I don’t give a fuck about anybody else’s cunt but yours.”
We stood there, not touching, not speaking, each of us standing our ground. But I had no basis to keep my position, and it felt like he’d won so much already.
I couldn’t back down.
“Prove it,” I said.
His expression flared, his eyes growing dark and mean, and I realized what I’d done. Donovan wasn’t one to be provoked.

My mouth slammed shut, but I still didn’t move. If I moved, I’d be asking for this. But if I talked, I’d be telling him to stop.

Dirty Filthy Rich Love is sinfully delicious and I devoured every single salacious morsel of it! I’ve been totally smitten with this dominating, insanely alpha, Donovan Kinkaid since the start of this series. Donovan certainly brought his A-game to DRFL!! Needless to say, this dark man definitely replaced Reeve Sallis as my LP favorite bad boy! What an awesome conclusion to a series that is guaranteed to keep your heart racing!
To me, Donovan was always a bit of a mystery in both Dirty Filthy Rich Boy and in Dirty Filthy Rich man. A man tortured by the demons that dwelled within him. A man who was kind of hard to figure out but you couldn’t help but be drawn to him. I wondered if as the cocky, confidence he exuded was used as a protective screen to hid those demons and the darkness within him from Sabrina. Why had he been hesitant to keep things from Sabrina.
In DFRL it was like a 180 to see the tables turned on Donovan. To find Sabrina not only pissed at him for the folder she found but also to now find her in the driver seat. While in France, Donovan had an awakening. Not only about his feeling for Sabrina but knowing he would have to face her to discuss the file she had found. To see him this vulnerable only makes you love him even more.
There was never any doubt that Donovan and Sabrina were made for each other. The fact they connected on such a raw, carnal level was obvious and only feed the other’s dirty, naughty desires. The passion, the intensity, the down and dirty was so freakin erotic!! Believe me there are plenty of fireworks between these two …. like that time in Weston’s office! Yet it’s these times that the intimacy between them is like a separate language of its own…. baring their soul, saying so much without the words.
What happens when Donovan and Sabrina finally have that sit down “come to Jesus moment”? The moment Donovan unfolds why he’s meddled so much in Sabrina life. How he’s manipulated and controlled so much of what has happened to her since she left college. When Sabrina demands there be “no more secrets between them”. Would Donovan be able to comply with this?
The real question that remains is whether Sabrina can shake her insecurities about this tortured, dominating man. To see beyond the possessive and manipulative that Donovan has exhibited in her life as his way of protecting and loving her. After all love isn’t always hearts and flowers!
I Love, love, loved this story!!! The DUET Series is OUTSTANDING! Donovan and Sabrina’s story was amazing! Laurelin story telling at her finest!!
