Debut author Amy Briggs sure got me Fired Up!! It’s a second chance at romance for Jo Meadows and Brian Cavanaugh. An angst filled but often sweet read about two firefighters. Jo and Brian had grownup childhood friends along with Brian’s brother, Matt, who was Jo’s best friend. Jo has been crushing on Brian since childhood. Their parents had been really close friends too.
Jo Meadows had followed in her Dad’s footsteps becoming a firefighter. It’s a job she loves and couldn’t be happier doing. Expanding her wings a bit she is working in another station as a paramedic. Also working at this station is the boyfriend that she has recently broken up with. While this isn’t the ideal situation she is dealing with it.
When her Dad unexpectedly dies it leaves Jo in a tail spin. She is devastated and at a loss of what to do. As she is trying to put her life back together without her Dad she has an opportunity to go back to work at her Dad’s station. The only problem is that Brian is now the new Chief at that station. Brian’s lived his life pretty much as a ladies man…. never serious about anyone. How will things work with Jo at his station? Will Jo feelings cause problems?
Brian begins to see Jo in a different light as she deals with her Dad’s death. Not only had there been a moment in their past but he begins to realize that there is more to his feelings for Jo than he thought. As he to explore those thoughts he realizes that he wants to protect and take care of her too. And when these feeling are reciprocated the passion between the two of them ignites!! Will Jo and Brian survive the inferno they’ve created?
