BLURB:
I fought for my country.
Now, it’s time to fight for my dreams.
I traded my combat boots for cleats and the battlefield for the football field. I’d say it worked for me. With scouts from the professional league at my games and more girls lined up outside my locker room than at the door of a club, I’m living every bachelor’s American dream. So, why do I only dream of her?
Cameron Armstrong is a cocky, arrogant, sexy, delicious… Where was I going with this again? When he shows up with a swagger and a smile, I tell him two words he’s never heard before: Not Interested. That is, until he shows me how much more there is to him. My heart tells me to trust him. But, with his reputation and frenzied fan girls, I can’t shake my fear. Am I just another play in his book?
*******************************************
A while back I had the privilege to talk with Eddie. I read and absolutely loved American Bad Boy. Being the curious person I am I just had to find out a little more about him. One of the things I learned was that we both have friends or family affected by PTSD. Since PTSD is frequently kind of swept under the table, I found it very real yet touching that he would include the topic in his book. As you have already found out Eddie is just a really genuine good guy. Now, I’d love to share a little inside scoop on him.
*Congrats on your retirement from the military. Was being in the military always something you knew you wanted to do?
I’ve come from multiple generations of military, going back to my great-grandfather serving. My father was a great role model in my life and, like him, I always knew I wanted to serve.
*Did you always know that you wanted to write?
I’ve always had an overactive imagination and been told I have a way with words. Unfortunately, the military doesn’t have many outlets for that particular talent. So, I wrote little things here and there, just for me. I always wanted to write, but wasn’t sure how to go about it. That’s why I love self-publishing so much. It opens the doors for a lot of people to follow their dreams.
*Will all of your books have a military theme?
No, but they will all have real people with real problems.
*Tell us more about your writing. Do you outline your book, like to listen to music….
I definitely follow an outline, not much in the way of flying by the seat of my pants. I put a lot of thought and detail into each scene before I ever put pen to paper. And pen to paper is how I do it! I’m old school and just find that the words come easier that way, even if it does take longer.
*PTSD is often an issue that gets over looked or swept under the table. Was it a conscience decision to include this topic in American Bad Boy?
Yes, it was. I’ve watched many struggle with PTSD. I’ve lost friends who have taken their lives due to combat related PTSD. I’ve even watched my own father change and face demons because of PTSD due to operations. It’s an important issue to me, to say the least.
*Where will your next book take us?
The next book will follow Cameron and Chelsea’s story on and off the football field.
*What was your favorite subject in school?
It was a toss up between Art and English, basically any class where I could create, I liked.
*What do you like to do in your free time?
Run, read and fuck. Not necessarily in that order 😉
*Tell us what is your dream vacation.
In the navy, my favorite port was always Oahu. I loved going to the North Shore and surfing. And the food trucks! I would go back in a heartbeat.
*Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us.
Something that I know used to surprise the guys I served with was that I went to a craft and design college and used to sell my pottery. I specialized in making coffee mugs, and sold out of them every year.
