MARY’S 5 STAR REVIEW

I think this has to be the best books from A. M. Madden that I’ve read.  Although I have read and loved every book she has written Hostile Workplace has certainly become my new favorite!!  It’s a second chance romance but Holy Toledo the twist and turns!   HW has tons of feels.  It’s funny, it’s sad, it’s full of drama with unbelievable twist and turns.

Sam Stanton has been engaged to Ginny for a while.   Ginny is safe and she adores him yet she can never get him to commit to a date to get married.  Even though they have been together for a while, Sam is starting to question his relationship with her.  He’s working long hours to avoid going home.  It takes family and his friend Liam to open his eyes and see he is wasting time and in a loveless relationship.

Sam Stanton is a man driven.  Successful at his job and ever pressing to climb the corporate ladder.  Sam also isn’t a fun person to work for either he’s arrogant, he’s demanding and is disliked by many of his co-workers.  So when the opportunity presents itself for Sam to move up that ladder he jumps at the chance.  

But what happens when he finds out that instead of just stepping into the new position he finds out that an outside candidate is also being considered?  To say he is pissed off is putting it mildly.  Finally meeting the other candidate he’s stunned when it turns out to be Lydia Wilson.

Lydia, was the woman who had broken his heart years earlier.  She was Sam’s high school sweetheart, the woman he had given his heart to.  WTF was she doing here, trying to get his job?  Little does he know that the whole thing is about revenge.    Lydia is the woman scorned and although she is here to get the job the satisfaction of getting even with Sam is also part of it.

Things really begin to heat up as the two begin their battle to win the job.  Both having unresolved issues from their break up years ago it’s clear pretty soon the Lydia is going to be the one who felt the need to get even.  I couldn’t help but feel bad for Sam because Lydia was the woman scorned.  The chemistry between them was scorching hot and talk about angry sex!

So as the truth surrounding their breakup slowly starts to unravel it’s like opening a Pandora’s box.  Both Sam and Lydia have to dig deep inside to make sense of what’s been unveiled. 

There is so much more I would love to say about this book but if I did it would totally ruin it for you!  Hostile Workplace is a well written and will most assuredly hold you captive from beginning to end.  Absolutely a must read.
