Anna B. Doe debut of the first book of the Greyford High Series, Lines, is a YA second chance. It deals with the everyday intricacies of high school seniors. From romance, to friendships: past and new, to emotions and even bullying Lines has it all. It took a little bit to really get into the story but once there I was committed.

Amelia Campbell is a brainiac, nerd girl but she is also an introvert. She shies away from the limelight after years of teasing. Derek King is a cocky hot shot star hockey player. Because of his good looks and muscular build, he is frequently sought after but the girls at Greyford High. Amelia avoids Derek like the plague.

But it wasn’t always like this! She and Derek had grown up as friends from a young age. In fact, she had a crush on him. That was until his best friend Andrew started teasing her and calling her “Dotty”. Derek and Andrew had been his best friends for years and afraid of loosing his best friend he did nothing to stop this. Further hurting Amelia and making her declare that she “hated” him.

This long-term teasing has gone on from a young age until now. Her efforts to stay under the radar and remain somewhat invisible comes to a screeching halt when Maximillian Sanders enter the picture after rescuing Amelia when her car had broken down by giving her a ride to school.

I’m not gonna lie because I loved Max’s character!! #TotallyTeamMax Max was kind, sweet, he made Amelia smile. He also helped boost her self-esteem. I love how he encouraged her and got her to do things she might not have done otherwise.

But Max’s appearance in town also lit a fire under Derek too. It made him realize that Amelia was going to slip through is fingers. With competition in the house it was time for Derek to kick his plans into high gear!! When Derek lets his feelings for Amelia surface and begins to turn on the charm and sweet sexiness for Amelia …. Swoon!! But will Derek be able to win Amelia’s heart again?

I really enjoyed Lines and can not wait for the next book to be released!!
Fingers crossed it’s Max as he really stole my heart!!
