MARY’S 5 STAR REVIEW
There were so many things about Love Struck that made this book such a fabulous read. It was sweet, sexy and the feels. Gahhh!! I loved the Lacy and Eli as a couple. I also found it very intriguing how they had a dual romance…not only in person but also their budding online sort of interest, that started prior to them actually meeting.
We first met Lacy, a musician and songwriter, who is the sister of Alex in Miss Match. Lacy world has been turned upside down with the suicide of her fiancé. Sad, alone and dealing with writers block she is struggling. Turning to an online support group for others like her. Using the name LoveCoda, has struck up a friendship with FolxNotDead27. Their talk is free and easy and as time goes by they begin to connect. In fact the connection leads to the decision that they might actually have feelings for each other and want to meet. So much so that they plan a date, time and place!
Eli is the lead guitar for the band, Blue Hills. He and Jax, his best friend, started Blue Hills together and have seen it come grow into a popular group. Eli has always written songs for the group but of late is totally frustrated with Jax. Jax is taking his work and changing it to suit his own style. Frustrated by this Eli find solace in the same support group as Lacy…going by FolxNotDead27. He and LoveCoda have this mutual attraction thing going on. One of the things he most looks forward to is the time spent talking with LoveCoda online.
Then the chance of a lifetime happens for Lacy. She is asked to be the opening act and tour with the band, Blue Hills. Both excited and scarred, she accepts and now the pressure to preform really kicks in. Would Lacy be able to come up with the new songs needed to further her career?
Eli and Lacy quickly fall into a comfortable and friendly pattern. The banter between them is sweet and gets pretty darn hot. They are the yin to each other’s yang. The more time they spend together the harder it becomes to control those feelings. AND then, BAM, it happens. Their undeniable chemistry is suddenly out of control and hot damn if the sex isn’t off the charts. Now that Lacy and Eli had this torrid physical relationship going where does that leave the online thing? What would happen to Love Coda and FolxNotDead27? Would Lacy and Eli realizing they already knew each other from their online support group?
Love Struck was a fun read and had just the right amount of angst, lust and sex to make it hot. There was also the right amount of twist and unforeseen turns from Lacy to make you go WTF?? Plenty of laughs thanks to Alex and her flamboyant wedding planner. I certainly cannot wait for the next collaboration of Lauelin Paige and Kayti McGee because I know IT WILL BE HOT!!!
