OMG this book!! Captivating from the first page! It’s unbelievable how much I loved Provocative. It was absolutely Alex’s best book yet! Now if only I can find the right words to convey just how awesome this book was. Provocative is one of those books that reaches right into your heart and your soul. It’s tumultuous, it’s emotional as well as gut-wrenching…. you see the disaster coming but you just can’t look away. Gah!!! The feels from this book will rock you to the deepest most hidden places in your core. ~sigh~
I fell in love with Alex Lucian’s writing when I read Tempting, the first book of the Tempting duet. Tempting is a professor/student romance that will totally blow your mind. Not only that but it also pushes the boundaries of a professor/student relationship. Adele and Nathan’s relationship was passionate, physical, and completely insatiable. They love and they love hard and damn if they are not going to find a way to make this work.
In Provocative Nathan has taken his dream job at Harvard. Away from Northern, away from his Dad and away from scrutinizing eyes. He and Adele are settling into a new routine with her going to classes and his teaching. Nathan’s hours are long. Adele is alone. A lot! She is struggling to keep that hot as hell connection with Nathan alive. Where loneliness becomes the norm and missed meals, late nights begin adding up she fights back. Fighting with the one way that always see to reconnect and ground them… their physicality.
Amidst these struggle comes a life altering challenge. Challenging the very existence of normality. One that leaves Adele frightened and scared but at the same time find Nathan elated. Then almost as quickly they are struck with a devastating loss. One that sets their life into a desperate tail spin. Promises that were made are broken, misunderstandings abound and threaten to destroy the life they had built together.
Don’t get me wrong, Adele and Nathan are ever bit a hot and explosive as always. Their sizzling hot chemistry still rocks the Richter Scales. They are in a crisis. It’s time for them to dig deep and do a little soul searching.
Provocative is an intense and often time breathe holding read. The suspense of where Alex is taking Adele and Nathan to next kept me on the edge of my seat…. not to mention knots in my stomach. Provocative truly runs the whole gamut of emotions be prepared for a bit of everything.
Definitely a MUST READ!!
