The Debit is unlike any book I’ve ever read! It is filled with emotion…pure, raw emotion. Hadley and Josh are unlike any characters that I’ve read before and their lives truly heart wrenching. There were so many times while reading that I had to take a time out just to absorb what I was reading. This book broke my heart yet it eventually put all those pieces back together.
When I first started this book I didn’t know if I would be able to finish it. So many things tugging at my heart. The time in foster care, the abuse and neglect …how would any young child survive that without being traumatized? Josh and Hadley are each damaged yet by holding on to one another they somehow find a way to survive their past.
Josh is a gifted musician who has a way of being an a$$ at times. Hadley is an artist and was Josh’s best friend. Two broken souls but together they seemed to heal and become whole. Their banter and the angst …gah!! And then Josh runs out on Hadley, would he ever be able to repair the damage done? Would Hadley forgive him? Will he ever be able to let the guilt go?
The Debt is truly keeps you on the edge of your seat read but it is so freakin good there is no way that I could put it down!!! This is one debut novel that totally blew my mind away and Tyler King is definitely an author that I will be reading again!! pssst……I really hope that we get more of Josh and Hadley too.
