MARY’S 5 STAR REVIEW

The Negotiator by Avery Flynn was an absolute pleasure to read. The story was laugh out loud funny and flirty but still was a sweet, sexy romance. There was tons of angst, heat and tons of sultry, sexy times, not to mention all of hilarious situations that Sawyer found himself in!!

Sawyer Carlyle had taken the reins of Carlyle Industries after the death of his dad. His focus was on the success of the company and had centered his life around running the company. He had little time for anything outside business and furthermore wasn’t really interested in relationships.

Sawyer’s mother was determined to see that Sawyer was married off. After all there was more to life than just work. So, she took it upon herself to play matchmaker for her son. She was serious enough about this that she begins to plaque him with a parade of high society women as potential brides. Needless to say, this was anything but what he wanted and clearly left him frustrated.

Sawyer’s brother, Hudson, took it upon himself to place an ad to obtain a buffer to run interference between Sawyer and his mother. That went over about as well as his mother’s parade of possible candidates. Ahh, but leave it up to Hudson to send the one who was just a little different.

Then in walked Clover (Jane) Lee. She was not the typical woman that his mother paraded in front of him. She was feisty, worldly, had a sassy mouth and was definitely a free spirit. She was looking for a temp job so she could fund her next adventure to Australia.

Sawyer was so impressed with Clover’s ability to put his mother in her place that he hired her on the spot. She was perfect for the job of his personal buffer!! Little did he know that he was fixing to be out negotiated by her as they set up terms of her employment.

Now here is where the fun begins!! Next thing Clover knew she found herself “fake engaged” to Sawyer. Loved it!! Sawyer saw this as a way to get a break from his mom’s antics as well focus on business. Yet what happens when Clover starts changing the agreement? Why not take advantage of the benefits of being engaged and enjoy the pleasure they could share! No commitment and it was all over at the end of her contract.

What Sawyer didn’t plan on was Clover changing his life. Opening himself to many adventures with her. I especially enjoyed the Flea Market trip. Gah, the banter was sweet and kept me in stitches. OMG the ending of this book stole my heart!!

But what would happen as Sawyer began to like the fun Clover brought to his life?

Would Sawyer and Clover realize that they could have more?

The Negotiator is sweet and fun and good lord did it leave me wanting more!!

The perfect book for when you need something light and fun!
