The whole stethoscope-and-white coat thing isn’t my cup of tea.
I prefer a man with an artistic vein in his body. 9 – 5 hours. And I can definitely do without the half-lidded, sleepy bedroom eyes. (Okay, so those are kind of sexy.)
Tall, dark, and handsome doesn’t change the fact that he’s arrogant, cocky, and rude.
Not that I care, but he’s made it clear he wants nothing to do with a quirky girl like me, which is why he said no.
Turns out no isn’t an option.

This book is such an amazing book to kick off 2018!! Kim’s books are always steamy, sweet, sexy but this book …. gah!! Let’s just say that The Thing About Love took the sexiness to a whole new level which made it nearly impossible to put this book down!! With the sinfully, delicious Dr. Jake Kissinger, why would you even want to?
Jules is a hot mess. Having taken over her Uncles wedding planning business she finds herself in dire straits. In spite of how great she is at the wedding planning part it, the financial stuff is what she sucks at. With a depleted savings account it’s just a matter of time until the business will have to be sold. A failing business, no clients and trying to secure the one prospect she anxiously awaits the client’s arrival.
It’s when a mistaken identity and misunderstanding turns Jules chance at landing a contract in jeopardy. Furthermore, it’s not until a piece of flying cake hits it’s target that chaos ensues. Enter here Dr. Jake Kissinger, aka, Dr. Kiss! And holy h*ll if he isn’t hot sex on a stick!! O. M. G. Jake is gorgeous, blue eyes, sexy smile with pouty kissable lips and a body to sigh for! Needless to say, Jules and Jake get off to a pretty dismal start.
Yet his little sister wants no one other than Jules as her wedding planner. Jake is kind of stuck with working with her when a family crisis leaves him working directly with Jules. Even though Jules is trying in earnest to make this wedding the one of Rory’s dream Jake is rude, arrogant and uncooperative. That is until they have a come to Jesus moment and he begins to see another side of Jules. A side he really becomes enchanted with. One that he also knows can’t go anywhere because he has made plans for his future and that future doesn’t include Jules.
There are so many things about this book that just steal your heart. Jules and Jake both love their professions. While Jules was impulsive and klutzy Jake was a man who loved not only his job, his patients but his family too, all of which is evident. Jake also turns out to be really sweet too. Who would have thought he was a softie at heart? Their chemistry is absolutely white hot and they make such a perfect couple. Umm, there might have been something about a video too!! There are other real-life occurrences that will make them even closer and truly tug at your heartstrings.
The Thing About Love is pure romance with tons and tons of feels.
The way Kim has woven this tale of love, loss and heartbreak is what makes this book endearing.
A definite MUST READ book!!!

She grew up in Rochester, NY and now lives in Florida with her husband and four kids. She’s always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, she wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. She went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise her family.
