MARY’S 4.5 REVIEW
Well, I must say that this book was an intriguing and sexy read. The two main characters, Hunter Carlisle & Olivia Johnston, could not have been more different yet also alike. While economical lives were at two different ends of the spectrum they were both strong willed and determined. The later of the two is what makes this book so fun! I enjoyed Yes, Please and although some familiar hints of other stories this was definitely with a different twist.
Hunter Carlisle is every girls dream. He’s is the wealthy CEO of his own empire, hot, Alpha and lives by a set of rules. The rules are no kissing on the mouth and no commitment. These rules left me wondering if he had been burnt by a past love. I think this is part of what made me love him more even if he could be a prick.
Olivia Johnston, is a recent college graduate from a prestigious college looking for work. Her lack of experience had left her out of the job market due to this. Or she is overqualified by virtue of her education. Broke and with a pile of bills to pay she is desperate to find a job.
Hunter is in need of a new administrative assistant. A position that is very coveted and has many women competing for it. Luckily for Oliva her friend and mentor, Kimberly, is aware of this position. With encouragement from Kimberly she decides to go ahead and apply for the job in spite of the fact that there are conditions on working for him.
When Olivia get the opportunity to interview with Hunter is very clear that he expects a lot from his assistant. Not only will she be his right hand but she will also be required to attend social engagements with him and let’s not forget the last condition… she will also be at his service for sex.
As much as Oliva needs the job and the money she has a really hard time saying yes to the last condition of employment. This is when Hunter makes her a counter offer. One month of employment without the condition of sex and at the end of that month she has the ability to transfer to another position within the company. What did she have to lose? I loved how independent Olivia was and her ability to push back with Hunter. I think that her unpredictability shocked Hunter but also freed him a bit.
Little did Oliva realize just how much she would be attracted to Hunter. There was such a white hot, lust inducing, pull between the two of them she just couldn’t help herself. When that attraction gave way to passion Olivia’s will to say no was gone.
What happens when the month is up? Would Olivia acquiesce?
